Dont forget the cell phones

Political polls that include cell phone users show Obama leading McCain by an average of 10 points, versus just over five points in land-line-only surveys, notes a Sunday survey put together by Nate Silver, founder of the electoral projections site FiveThirtyEight.
The survey shows a snapshot of 15 polls conducted on behalf of media companies and by polling companies such as Gallup and Zogby. Six of those, including one released late Sunday by NBC and the Wall Street Journal, include cell phone users. The rest don’t.

It’s easy to forget how out of touch pollsters may be when it comes to reaching important demographics. I know I’m not the only person who doesn’t have a land line in the house. The number was around 14% last year.

The Choice 2008

Caught the majority of Frontlines “The Choice 2008″ last night and would recommend it as required viewing for anyone who considers themselves well versed in either McCain or Obama. The biography’s of these two men are simply astounding. And as leaders both have amazing careers, which is sometimes easy to forget with all the late season spin in high gear.
I don’t think it would be possible for anyone to watch this and not learn something new about both candidates. In fact, I defy you to try.

What’s wrong with this picture?

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama’s last name is spelled “Osama” on some 300 absentee ballots mailed out this week to voters in Rensselaer County hilltowns.
Is it a Freudian slip, intentional gaffe or a mistake? Voters are sure to have opinions, and one politician pointed out that the letters “s” and “b” are not exactly keyboard neighbors.
