After the Worcester City Council spent endless hours debating a new ordinance for street vendors in August, at times under circumstances that resembled a bad situation comedy, Paul Clancy Jr., a veteran of city politics, said it was the “most disorganized” council on which he has ever served. Some say it begins to resemble councils in the 1980s when the weekly meetings were referred to as the “Tuesday Night Gong Show.”

Districts and colleges boost Farm to School

The staff at the Massachusetts Farm to School Project appreciates the decision of many local schools and colleges to preferentially purchase local foods from area farms, both large and small. We hear wonderful stories of elementary school students marveling at the taste of crisp apples, juicy pears, crunchy carrots and smooth butternut squash - all grown here in Worcester County. At the college level, students enjoy delicious ingredients grown right near their campuses.
