When Adolf Hitler became dictator of Nazi Germany, Austria was placed under German dominance. Hitler then annexed the Sudetenland from Czechoslovakia. When Vladimir Putin became premier of Russia, Russian troops invaded the Republic of Georgia to save a particular portion of that republic.
