Christian Science parents want best for kids

I found Terrance Ingano’s article, “God or medicine in old-time Clinton?” (Telegram & Gazette, Feb. 12) an interesting one. Mr. Ingano described a 1903 Clinton Courant story about a young man, Leonard Russell, who passed away after an illness. Mr. Russell and his family were Christian Scientists. The unnamed reporter from the Courant interviewed Mr. Russell’s mother, and his account of the mother’s response to his inquiries and her letter to the editor that was published a week lat

Congress’ steroid probe a waste of time

It just slays me. Does it bother anyone else that our United States government on Capitol Hill is wasting our precious time and money questioning Major League Baseball players about their HGH/steroid use?

Holden complex brings other costs

February, 29th | Uncategorized | No Comments »

For weeks, Holden residents have been talking about the enormous size (43,500 square feet), the sky-high price ($15.5 million) and the increased real estate taxes needed to pay for the latest proposed safety complex. No one has talked about the increased operational and maintenance costs required to run, heat and light this huge facility. No one has talked about the additional costs for personnel to staff such a facility. No one has talked about the added costs for new trucks and equipment to fi
