Vote on marriage amendment elicits response
Recently, our legislators voted not to put the marriage amendment on the ballot. Do these politicians believe we don’t have the ability to recognize right from wrong? We elected them to office to work for us and to voice our views and concerns. We know right from wrong. Are they working for us or the big boys in the Legislature? It gets discouraging to see legislation that’s not for the people being thrust upon us, continually passing against our will.

But the burden of building and maintaining transportation assets should be borne by more of the commonwealth’s drivers.

Surviving one battle to fight another on health care front
Americans are transfixed by the twin stories of grace, strength and courage shown in the face of the recurrence of cancer by Elizabeth Edwards and White House Press Secretary Tony Snow. Tried in illness and proud in recovery, these two public figures exemplify the capriciousness with which cancer can strike and strike again. Yet their personal battles also symbolize the greater challenges we all face in cancer policy and health care reform.
