Public should protest judges’ poor decisions
On Jan. 13, I read the article on the man who sexually assaulted a teenage boy. His name was Jeffrey J. Bickford, and he was given only 2 1/2 years for raping a minor over the course of six months. Judge John S. McCann refused to consider the family’s plea for a longer sentence.

We appreciate the newspaper’s coverage of the facilities master planning process in the Lunenburg Public Schools. Some over-the-top speculation about most unpopular president
I suppose we should not place too much stock in a man admirers called “the conscience of the Bush White House,” but Michael J. Gerson’s voice is going to be an interesting one to listen to, at least for the next few months. He’s been at the Council on Foreign Relations since June, after spending five years as chief speechwriter for President Bush. He will soon start writing a column for the Washington Post.
